Teaching Assistant - Primary (SEN Support)

Location: Leeds
Contract: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (term time only)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90 - £95 per day (dependent on experience)

We are currently working in partnership with a number of primary schools across Leeds who are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants to support pupils across the school day, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These roles involve working both in and out of the classroom, providing learning, behavioural, and pastoral support where needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with children in an educational setting who is passionate about placing pupils at the centre of everything they do. You'll be joining supportive school teams and playing a vital role in helping children reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum

  • Preparing resources and assisting with lesson activities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEN

  • Building positive, supportive relationships with pupils

  • Helping to maintain a calm, safe, and well-organised classroom environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting

  • An understanding of different learning and additional needs

  • A flexible and supportive approach, including willingness to assist with personal care if required

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths

  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
