NextGen Teachers are currently supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in central Leeds who are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time position based within our in-house provision, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This school is committed to providing a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment where every child can thrive. You will work closely with experienced teaching staff and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication and interaction needs, ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEND within our specialist in-house provision

  • Deliver targeted interventions and personalised support plans

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and external agencies

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

This role requires patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEND (school-based experience desirable)

  • A calm, caring, and flexible approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
