NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a SEN School in Leeds for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time opportunity to work within a specialist setting supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This SEN school is a well-respected specialist provision supporting children and young people from the age of 4 - 18 years with complex learning needs, including ASD, communication and interaction needs, and associated challenges. The school provides a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with complex SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Support communication development using specialist approaches where required
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Contribute to a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
This role requires patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
A calm, caring, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
