Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (term time only)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90-£95 per day (dependent on experience)

NextGen Teachers are pleased to be recruiting a committed Teaching Assistant for a warm and inclusive primary school in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team that places children's wellbeing, development, and curiosity at the heart of school life.

This role is ideal for someone caring, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting learning across the school. You will work closely with class teachers to help deliver engaging lessons, promote positive behaviour, and provide 1:1 or small group support to ensure pupils feel confident and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum

• Preparing resources and assisting with lesson delivery

• Providing individual and small group support

• Building positive relationships with pupils

• Supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND

• Helping maintain a calm and organised classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting

• An understanding of different learning needs

• Willingness to support with personal care if required

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

• An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

• GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths (Science desirable)

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
