SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield
Contract: Supply cover with the potential for long-term opportunities
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90 - £95 per day (dependent on experience)
NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting a compassionate and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Wakefield. This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive and inclusive school community, helping pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential.
You will be working with children who have a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, global developmental delay, and SEMH. Responsibilities include providing 1:1 and small group support, assisting with inclusive classroom activities, and delivering personal care where required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (essential)
A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A good understanding of safeguarding procedures
An enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
A Level 3 Childcare qualification (desirable)
