Location: Secondary School - Crawley

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Type: Ongoing Temp to Perm

Pay: £100 - £105 per day - DOE

The Role

We're looking for a compassionate, confident, and proactive Pastoral Mentor to support a bright and engaging pupil within a welcoming and supportive secondary school environment. We are looking for someone who has a calm, flexible approach and experience of boosting confidence and reducing anxiety. The successful candidate will be an excellent relationship builder and have proven ability of providing pastoral support either in a school setting or a relevant trasnferable position.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 teaching assistant support in lessons and in a quiet, structured workspace.
  • Helping to break down learning into smaller, achievable steps.
  • Offering gentle encouragement and emotional reassurance throughout the day providing emotional continuity.
  • Communicating daily with parents, summarising progress and focus areas for home.
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to adapt tasks and promote positive participation.

About You

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience supporting students as a TA / LSA or in a pastoral role in a school setting or in a comparable position.
  • Has some exposure to working people who are neurodiverse, have SEN needs or PDA profiles
  • Are patient, empathetic, and skilled at building rapport.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, students, and parents.
  • Are adaptable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
