Health and Wellbeing Officer - Barnsley Secondary School
Salary: £100 per day
Contract: Term-time only, Monday to Friday
NextGen Teachers is seeking a compassionate and proactive Health & Wellbeing Officer to join a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley. Based primarily in the school's medical room, this vital role supports the health, safety, and overall wellbeing of students throughout the school day.
The Role
As the school's Health & Wellbeing Officer, you will:
Provide day-to-day first aid support for students
Manage the safe signing-in, storage, and dispensing of medication
Complete and maintain relevant risk assessments
Support student wellbeing and pastoral needs across the school when required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a valid First Aid qualification (medication administration training is desirable but not essential)
Has experience working with children in a health, pastoral, or wellbeing-focused role
Demonstrates excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills
Is reliable, calm, and confident when handling health-related responsibilities
