Complex Care Assistant (Primary SEN)
Location: Leeds
Contract: Temporary to Permanent, Term-Time Only
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90-£95 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

NextGen Teachers is working with Specialist SEN schools across Leeds to recruit Complex Care Assistants to support primary-aged children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). This role focuses on personalised care, sensory engagement, and wellbeing support within a multi-sensory learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support primary-aged learners with complex needs, including PMLD

• Provide personal care and assist with mobility and positioning

• Deliver multi-sensory activities using touch, sound, light, and movement

• Use communication tools such as Makaton, visuals, and communication books

• Work as part of a high staff-to-learner ratio team

• Support offsite activities when required

Requirements

• Experience supporting children with complex SEN needs

• Experience providing personal care

• Patient, caring, and confident in behaviour management

• Understanding of safeguarding and record-keeping

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English, Maths, and Science
