Location: Doncaster

Contract: Full-time, Term-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Age Group: 3-11 years

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £100 per day (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching assistant to support a year 5 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan for ASD (Autism) and ADHD, providing tailored 1:1 support both academically and emotionally. This role includes assisting with the breakfast club, creating a welcoming and positive start to the pupils' day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a named pupil, implementing their EHCP targets in daily learning
  • Adapt activities to meet the pupil's individual needs, abilities, and learning style
  • Support the development of communication, social interaction, and independence skills
  • Use appropriate communication strategies
  • Apply consistent behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies
  • Monitor, record, and report on progress and engagement against EHCP outcomes
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure a consistent, personalised approach
  • Support with sensory needs and movement breaks where required
  • Assist with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
  • Supervise and engage pupils in a safe, calm, and welcoming environment before the school day

What we're looking for:

  • Experience supporting pupils in KS2
  • A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine commitment to supporting children with special educational needs
  • A calm, consistent approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a classroom and wider school team
  • SEN experience with Autism and ADHD
