Are you a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education?

NextGen Teachers are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Leeds seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, SEN professionals, social workers, or anyone looking to build a career supporting children and young people.

You'll work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils with their learning, development, and engagement. There may also be opportunities to support children within the school's SEN provision, gaining valuable experience working alongside experienced specialists.

The Role

  • Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 in the classroom
  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions
  • Assist teachers with lessons and classroom activities
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
  • Support children with additional needs when required
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment

About You

  • A graduate in a relevant subject such as Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, English, Maths, Sociology, Criminology, Sports Coaching, or similar
  • Interested in a future career in education or child-focused services
  • Confident, proactive, and enthusiastic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
