Are you an experienced HLTA with expertise in supporting children with complex communication needs?

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational setting in Leeds seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to support pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working alongside a highly supportive multidisciplinary team.

The Role

• Support pupils with complex communication and interaction needs
• Plan and deliver learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
• Deliver interventions and personalised learning programmes
• Lead lessons and provide PPA cover when required
• Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress
• Work collaboratively with families, teachers, and external professionals
• Support learning across school, home, and community settings
• Promote independence, communication, and positive outcomes for pupils

About You

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly complex communication needs
• HLTA qualification or significant relevant classroom experience
• Strong understanding of EHCPs, personalised learning, and inclusive practice
• Experience planning and delivering learning activities or interventions
• Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
• A patient, proactive, and child-centred approach
