We are recruiting a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a small, specialist SEMH school in Crawley. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit and forward-thinking team that places relationships, wellbeing, and personalised learning at the heart of everything it does.

The school supports pupils aged 6-16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including those with SEMH needs and associated additional needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Dsylexia.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or looking to develop your career within specialist education, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's educational journeys.

The Role

As a Teacher, you will deliver engaging and highly personalised learning to small groups of pupils, adapting your approach to meet a range of emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.

The role is ideally suited to a primary-trained teacher, although there may be opportunities to teach older pupils within a nurturing and therapeutic environment.

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised teaching tailored to individual needs
    * Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
    * Adapt teaching approaches to engage pupils with SEMH and additional needs
    * Build positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and success
    * Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff
    * Monitor progress and contribute to personalised learning and support plans
    * Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and wellbeing
    * Contribute to the ongoing development of an innovative and evolving curriculum

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    * Has experience, or a strong interest, in SEMH and SEND education
    * Is creative, patient, and adaptable in their approach
    * Can build strong and positive relationships with young people and families
    * Has excellent communication and classroom management skills
    * Is passionate about making a meaningful difference to children's lives
    * Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
    * Has a sense of humour and brings positivity and enthusiasm to their teaching

Why Apply?

  • Permanent, full-time opportunity within a specialist SEMH setting
    * Small class sizes and personalised learning approaches
    * Opportunity to shape and influence an evolving curriculum
    * Strong focus on staff wellbeing and professional development
    * Supportive, close-knit, and values-led team environment
    * Meaningful and rewarding work that changes young people's lives every day
    * Excellent experience for teachers passionate about inclusive and specialist education
