We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team within a specialist education setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and experience success both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and wider support staff to provide personalised support tailored to individual pupil needs. You will help create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist pupils with a range of SEND and additional learning needs
  • Support learning activities and help pupils engage positively in lessons
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and social development
  • Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning styles and needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional needs

  • Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with pupils, families, and colleagues
