SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School (Immediate Start)

Location: Redhill (good public transport links)
Hours: 8:45am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Contract: 12-week temp-to-perm position following a successful trial day

A well-established secondary SEN provision in Redhill is seeking a confident and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role would suit someone who is adaptable, patient, and committed to supporting young people with additional needs in a specialist learning environment.

The school supports students aged 11-16 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and moderate learning difficulties. Staff focus on providing structured support, personalised learning strategies, and consistent classroom routines to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role - Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant

• Work alongside teachers in small secondary SEN classes to support student engagement and academic progress
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support in line with individual education plans
• Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet a range of additional needs
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive participation in lessons
• Contribute to a structured, supportive environment that enables students to work towards qualifications and future pathways

• Has experience working with secondary-aged students with SEND
• Demonstrates understanding of Autism and additional learning needs
• Communicates clearly and models positive engagement strategies
• Remains calm, consistent, and professional at all times

• Is reliable and available to start immediately
