Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEN / SEND / SEMH) - Crawley

NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in Crawley. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students, including those with SEN, SEND, Autism (ASD), and SEMH needs.

• Location: Crawley, West Sussex (Mainstream Secondary School)
• Pay: £95-£100 per day
• Hours: 08:30am - 4:15pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
• Contract: Ongoing supply
• Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

The Role

You will work closely with teaching staff to support students across the curriculum, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing in-class support across a range of subjects
• Working 1:1 and with small groups of students
• Supporting pupils with SEN, SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
• Assisting with behaviour management and student engagement
• Helping to build confidence and support academic progress

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or similar
• An interest in or experience supporting SEN, SEND, ASD, or SEMH needs
• A calm, proactive, and reliable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
