Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEN / SEND / SEMH) - Crawley
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in education?
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in Crawley. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students, including those with SEN, SEND, Autism (ASD), and SEMH needs.
- Location: Crawley, West Sussex (Mainstream Secondary School)
- Pay: £95-£100 per day
- Hours: 08:30am - 4:15pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
- Contract: Ongoing supply
- Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
The Role
You will work closely with teaching staff to support students across the curriculum, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing in-class support across a range of subjects
- Working 1:1 and with small groups of students
- Supporting pupils with SEN, SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
- Assisting with behaviour management and student engagement
- Helping to build confidence and support academic progress
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or similar
- An interest in or experience supporting SEN, SEND, ASD, or SEMH needs
- A calm, proactive, and reliable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
