KS2 Behaviour Support Mentor

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full time, term time only. Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £92.60 per day

NextGen Teachers are supporting a Primary school in Leeds who are seeking to recruit a full-time Behaviour Mentor who can start as soon as possible.

As a Primary Behaviour Mentor for Key Stage 2 you will be responsible for supporting children with behavioural needs who may also have SEN and SEMH needs and an EHCP. Each day will be different as you will work with different pupils across Key stage 2 from Year 3 - Year 6, who need the most support with their behaviour in the classroom. The school are looking for a candidate who has previous experience working in a Primary school with KS2 pupils and who has experience working with children with SEN / SEMH needs or Behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behaviour support to pupils across KS2
  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to develop social and self-regulation skills
  • Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies effectively
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and behaviour
  • Support pupils during break and lunchtime where needed
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and attend ongoing training
