SEND Teaching Assistant (PMLD / SLD) - Croydon
- Location: Croydon (Specialist SEN School)
- Pay: £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
- Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
- Contract: Long-term, ongoing
- Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

We are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education, care, or support work who are looking to build a long-term career in SEN / SEND.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in a structured and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with sensory learning and engagement activities
- Supporting communication using methods such as PECS, symbols, and non-verbal strategies
- Providing personal care and mobility support (full training provided)
- Working closely with teachers and specialist SEN staff
The Ideal Candidate
- Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or
- Care Worker, or have a strong interest in this field
- Interested in supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, SEND, or complex needs
- Patient, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs
- In possession of an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
