Contract: Temporary until July - Potential for contract in September
Salary: £90 - £95 per day
Are you a teaching assistant in the DN9 area looking for a new challenge? This role could be just what you're looking for.
We are seeking a committed, resilient Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to work across Year 4 and Year 5, providing 1:1 support for three pupils on a rotational basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can combine warmth with strong boundaries and who understands the importance of consistency, structure and clear expectations.
About the Role:
You will be expected to:
● Provide 1:1 support to 3 different class-based children on a rotation basis
● Encourage focus and engagement within lessons
● Provide regular, structured movement breaks
● Use the 'Now and Next' approach to support the completion of tasks
● Maintain high expectations in line with the schools behaviour policy
● Provide a calm, structured and predictable presence in the classroom
● Offer 'soft starts' when required after challenging mornings
These children do not have EHCPs or identified learning difficulties however will benefit from:
● Clear boundaries
● Firm but fair approach
● Positive reinforcement
● Gentle encouragement alongside high expectations
The children may present as defiant at times so it is essential that you are resilient and have a steady approach.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
● Have experience working with KS2 aged children
● Be confident in their positive behaviour management techniques ]
● Be firm but fair and calm
● Understand the importance of and implement structure and routine
● Be proactive in supporting engagement and motivation
● Work effectively as part of a class team

Level 3 Playworker - After School Club
There is an opportunity to extend your working day by adding Level 3 Playworker to this position, from 3:30 to 5:30 every day.
This would involve:
● Planning and leading engaging activities
● Supporting positive play and social interaction
● Ensuring a safe, fun and inclusive environment
