Whether helping deliver engaging lessons, encouraging positive behaviour, or offering one-to-one support where needed, you will play a key part in ensuring pupils feel confident, valued, and ready to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As a Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to create a positive, nurturing, and well-organised learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality learning activities across the curriculum
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of resources to enhance teaching and learning
  • Providing individual and small-group support to help pupils make consistent progress
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with children to help them feel safe and motivated
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
  • Helping maintain a calm, purposeful classroom environment
  • Assisting with observation, assessment, and general classroom organisation

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • A good understanding of how to support pupils with different learning needs
  • Willingness to support with personal care if required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child-protection responsibilities
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Minimum GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths (science desirable)
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
