Key Stage 1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time (Term Time Only) - Leeds - Start ASAP (March 2026)

NextGen Teachers are recruiting a passionate and experienced KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Leeds, working in the school's in-house resourced provision for Key Stage 1 pupils. This is a full-time, term-time-only role, starting ASAP in March 2026, with the opportunity for a long-term contract.

This role is perfect for someone with experience supporting pupils with various SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and complex needs.

Candidates applying for this role MUST have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a professional capacity / school setting.

Role Responsibilities

• Supporting Key Stage 1 pupils within the school's resourced provision.

• Working 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils with SEN, complex needs, and communication challenges.

• Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other developmental needs to access the curriculum effectively.

• Assisting with behaviour management strategies and creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

• Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SEN team to plan and deliver learning activities.

• Helping pupils develop social, communication, and academic skills.

Requirements

• Experience working in a primary school or SEN setting, particularly with Key Stage 1 pupils.

• Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, or complex needs.

• A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
