KS2 Teaching Assistant
KS2 SEMH Teaching Assistant - Full Time (Term Time Only) - Doncaster (DN9) - Start ASAP
NextGen Teachers are recruiting a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Doncaster (DN9), supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Behavioual needs. This is a full-time, term-time-only role, starting ASAP in March 2026, with the opportunity for a long-term placement.
Candidates with a Level 3 qualification also have the option to take on an additional 2 hours per day supporting the school's after-school club, providing extra engagement and support for pupils. This is desirable but not essential.
Role Responsibilities
Supporting Key Stage 2 pupils (Year 4/5) with SEMH, Attention and Behavioural needs in the classroom.
Working 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access the curriculum and develop coping and social skills.
Supporting teachers with behaviour management strategies and creating a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, confidence building, and social development.
Collaborating with the class teacher and SEN team to plan and deliver learning activities.
Optional: Supporting the after-school club for 2 extra hours per day (Level 3 qualification required).
Requirements
Experience working in a primary school or SEMH provision.
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or social difficulties.
Level 3 qualification required to support the after-school club option.
Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
