Contract: Mon-Thurs, Part-Time, Term Time Only (Maternity Cover)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: MPS/UPS scale

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified SEND Teacher for a school located in Leeds, starting ASAP. This is a part-time role working four days per week (Monday-Thursday), with Fridays as a non-working day. The successful candidate will teach a small cohort of Year 3/4 pupils who are currently working within a Year 2/3 curriculum due to their individual learning needs. Pupils present with a range of SEMH needs alongside Autism and ADHD, requiring a highly adaptive, nurturing and structured approach to learning. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering personalised, engaging lessons that support both academic progress and emotional regulation within a supportive and flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver adapted lessons for Year 3/4 pupils working at a Year 2/3 level
  • Support pupils with SEMH, Autism and ADHD, adapting learning to individual needs
  • Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes engagement and regulation
  • Use effective behaviour and de-escalation strategies
  • Track and report on pupil progress in line with individual targets
  • Work closely with support staff and wider professionals to meet pupil needs
  • Ensure safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times

What we're looking for:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in SEND
  • Ability to teach and adapt learning for pupils working below age-related expectations
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, Autism and ADHD
  • A calm, consistent and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to plan engaging, flexible lessons that meet individual needs
  • A team player who can work closely with support staff and external professionals
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing
