NextGen Teachers are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist provision in Burgess Hill. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact and build understanding on SEND needs.

Role Details

• Location: Burgess Hill (West Sussex)
• Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
• Hours: 08:45am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
• Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12-week placement)
• Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across primary and secondary age groups, helping them access learning in a structured, safe, and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 support and small group support tailored to individual needs
• Supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), SEND, and complex needs
• Helping create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting communication, social skills, and confidence building
• Adapting learning activities to meet EHCP targets and individual learning plans

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Passionate about working with children with SEN, SEND, SEMH, or ASD
• Calm, patient, and resilient with a nurturing approach
• Skilled in recognising behaviour triggers and supporting de-escalation

• Experience in a school or specialist provision
• Knowledge of EHCPs, safeguarding, or behaviour support strategies
