Location: Horsforth

Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm

Age Group: 4-11 years

Start Date: September

Salary: £92 - £95 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Class Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The successful candidate will work with individuals and small groups to deliver targeted interventions, provide tailored support for pupils working below national expectations, and help meet the needs of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role requires a patient, caring, and proactive individual who is committed to helping every child reach their full potential while contributing positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and effective classroom learning.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to provide targeted support and promote progress.
  • Assist in preparing learning resources and monitoring pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment while encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support all learners and uphold safeguarding policies and procedures.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach, with the ability to support learning for individuals and small groups.
  • A proactive team player who is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and helping all pupils achieve their potential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
