Location: OX17
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £28,000 - £39,520 per annum
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a brand-new specialist school opening in September in OX17. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new educational setting from the very beginning, helping to shape a positive and nurturing learning environment for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, helping them build confidence, resilience, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The Role
- Plan and deliver creative, high-quality lessons tailored to the individual learning needs of pupils with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs
- Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where every pupil can thrive
- Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies and therapeutic approaches
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet a range of additional learning needs
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, using outcomes to inform future planning
- Work closely with colleagues, parents, carers, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
- Contribute to the development of a positive school culture and wider school community
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with pupils with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs, or within specialist or alternative provision settings
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated learning
- Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills
- A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people to overcome barriers to learning
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
