Level 3 Playworker - After School Club

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Level 3 Playworker to join an After School Club team in a lovely Primary School in the DN9 area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in a fun, safe and engaging environment at the end of the school day.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is creative in planning activities, and is passionate about supporting positive play and social interaction.

This role runs Monday to Friday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, supporting the school's After School Club provision.

There may also be opportunities for the hours to increase depending on experience and the needs of the school.

Key Responsibilities

As a Level 3 Playworker, you will:

  • Plan and lead engaging activities that encourage creativity, play and learning

  • Support positive play and social interaction between children of different ages

  • Ensure a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all children attending the club

  • Encourage children's independence while offering appropriate guidance and support

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times

  • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure the smooth running of the club

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare, playwork, or a related field

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children

  • Is enthusiastic, approachable and reliable

  • Can plan and deliver a range of fun and engaging activities

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of safeguarding and child wellbeing
