Post-16 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - KS5 - Horsham
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £27,122 per annum (paid 52 weeks)
Contract: Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: September 2026
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or Behaviour Support Worker looking to work with young people in a Post-16 setting?
We are recruiting a Post-16 Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Horsham, supporting students in Key Stage 5, specifically with their PSHE lessons. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a structured and supportive environment, helping young people develop independence, life skills, and confidence as they prepare for adulthood.
The Role
As a Post-16 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and socially, helping them engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in lessons through 1:1 and small group interventions
- Assisting with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Promoting independence, communication, and social development
- Supporting preparation for life beyond education, including life skills
- Working closely with teaching staff to support progress and outcomes
- Following safeguarding procedures and contributing to training and development
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, Behaviour Support Worker, or similar
- Have worked with young people with SEN, SEND, or additional needs
- Are calm, patient, and consistent in their approach
- Are confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs
- Are strong communicators and team players
- Are passionate about supporting independence and positive outcomes
