NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and well-established primary setting. This is a full-time position starting immediately, supporting some of the most complex and vulnerable children in school.
The Role:
You will be working closely with pupils who present with a range of high-level additional needs, which may include:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, Language & Communication Needs
Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Complex behavioural profiles
Trauma-informed support requirements
This role requires patience, emotional resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children who need consistency, structure and strong relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
Implementing individual education and behaviour support plans
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and external professionals
Creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Has experience supporting children with complex SEN needs
Is calm, proactive and confident managing challenging behaviour
Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches
Is committed to making a long-term impact
Holds relevant childcare/SEN qualifications (desirable but not essential with strong experience)
