NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and well-established primary setting. This is a full-time position starting immediately, supporting some of the most complex and vulnerable children in school.

The Role:

You will be working closely with pupils who present with a range of high-level additional needs, which may include:

  • Autism (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Speech, Language & Communication Needs

  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Complex behavioural profiles

  • Trauma-informed support requirements

This role requires patience, emotional resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children who need consistency, structure and strong relationship-building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs

  • Implementing individual education and behaviour support plans

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and external professionals

  • Creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience supporting children with complex SEN needs

  • Is calm, proactive and confident managing challenging behaviour

  • Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches

  • Is committed to making a long-term impact

  • Holds relevant childcare/SEN qualifications (desirable but not essential with strong experience)
