Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Age Group: 4-11 years
Start Date: September
Salary: £92 - £95 per day (depending on experience)

We're looking for a Travel Support Teaching Assistant to help primary pupils build the confidence and independence to travel safely to and from school. Using your knowledge of the local area, you'll support children in learning bus routes and travel skills before working in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils aged 4-11 with MLD, SLD and additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference both in and beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils aged 4-11 with moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD) in the classroom and during travel training.
• Help pupils develop the confidence and independence to travel safely using public transport.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, communication and independence in a safe and inclusive environment.
• Work closely with teachers, families and the wider school team while following safeguarding procedures

What we're looking for:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly MLD/SLD (desirable).
• A patient, caring and encouraging approach with excellent behaviour management skills.
• Good knowledge of the local area and confidence using public transport.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A reliable, proactive individual committed to safeguarding and promoting pupils' independence.
