Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Age Group: 4-18 years

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £92 - £95 (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers is looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Leeds. This full-time, term-time position offers the opportunity to work with students aged 4-18 who have a variety of complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), with the potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored classroom support for students with diverse SEN needs, including severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, medical needs, Down's Syndrome, sensory impairments, and autism.
• Deliver one-to-one support and lead small group interventions to encourage engagement and learning progress.
• Assist with learning activities while promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and SEN specialists to monitor and enhance student development.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that meets individual needs.

Who We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children is essential.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or in a care setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of a range of SEN needs, including Autism (ASD), Down Syndrome, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), SEMH, and behavioural challenges.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A calm, patient, and compassionate approach.
• A proactive attitude with a genuine commitment to supporting young people.
