SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time | Temporary to Permanent

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting multiple SEN Teaching Assistants for full-time, temporary to permanent positions at a well-established SEN specialist setting in Leeds. About the School
This SEN school is a through generic special school supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs. The school caters for children and young people from early years through to post-16, with a strong focus on personalised learning and holistic development.
Pupils at the school have a variety of needs including moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs, physical disabilities, autism, and sensory impairments, with education tailored through individualised pathways.
The school promotes a secure, caring and supportive environment, where each pupil's EHCP sits at the heart of learning and staff work collaboratively with therapists and specialist professionals to ensure pupils thrive academically, emotionally and physically.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of complex learning needs
- Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised and engaging learning activities
- Support communication, behaviour and emotional regulation
- Help pupils develop independence and social skills
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and specialist professionals

- Individuals who are patient, caring and resilient
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to learning support
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
