1:1 Teaching Support Assistant - KS1

NextGen Teachers are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Wakefield to recruit a compassionate and reliable 1:1 Teaching Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide personalised support to a KS1 child with additional needs, helping them to feel confident, secure, and ready to learn.

About the Role:

• Working on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 pupil who requires extra support with communication, focus, and emotional regulation
• Supporting learning in the classroom and delivering individualised interventions where needed
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
• Liaising with class teachers, the SENDCo, and parents to ensure consistent and supportive care

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, or SEND setting
• A caring and patient approach, with the ability to build strong relationships
• Understanding of how to support pupils with additional needs (e.g. SEMH, communication needs, learning difficulties)
• A team player who can adapt quickly and respond to a child's needs with empathy and initiative

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• Available to work Monday-Friday, term time
• Relevant experience or a background in education, childcare, or SEND support
• Two professional references
