1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant - WF10 (Wakefield)
Salary: £90-£95 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time | Term-time only | 8:30AM-3:30PM
Start Date: ASAP

NextGen Teachers is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a school in WF10 (Wakefield). This is a full-time, ongoing role starting as soon as possible.

About the Role:

You'll be working closely with one pupil who requires consistent, tailored support to access learning and manage their emotional and behavioural needs throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 classroom support

• Helping the pupil stay engaged with lessons and routines

• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

• Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt strategies and monitor progress

What We're Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or wider SEN needs

• Confident in managing challenging behaviour and setting clear boundaries

• Calm, patient, and dependable with a nurturing approach

• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
