Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Dyslexic Specialist
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Contract: Temp ongoing Monday to Thursday term time only
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £100 - £110 per day DOE

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant with proven experience supporting dyslexia, and using a range of evidence-based strategies to strengthen reading, writing, and wider literacy skills at Year 5 level.

This TA involves working 1:2 with two KS2 pupils who require personalised support to help them thrive. It's a fantastic long-term Learning Support Assistant opportunity within a warm, family-focused school, with a clear temp-to-perm route for the right person.

The Role

  • Provide 1:2 LSA support for two KS2 pupils with dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory processing needs

  • Use a range of dyslexia-friendly strategies and interventions to strengthen reading, spelling, handwriting, and overall literacy

  • Deliver tailored literacy and handwriting programmes to help close learning gaps

  • Support pupils with sensory regulation strategies and offer brain breaks where appropriate

  • Encourage confidence, creativity, and independence in every learning activity

  • Work closely with families to ensure consistent, personalised support

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting KS2 pupils with SEN, especially dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory needs

  • SpLD / ATS / APS qualification or credible experience supporting pupils with Dyselxia
  • Strong understanding of dyslexia-specific techniques-such as multisensory approaches, overlearning, scaffolded writing, and structured reading interventions

  • Patient, resilient, and skilled at building positive, trusting relationships

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
