Teaching Assistant
Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Dyslexic Specialist
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Contract: Temp ongoing Monday to Thursday term time only
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £100 - £110 per day DOE
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant with proven experience supporting dyslexia, and using a range of evidence-based strategies to strengthen reading, writing, and wider literacy skills at Year 5 level.
This TA involves working 1:2 with two KS2 pupils who require personalised support to help them thrive. It's a fantastic long-term Learning Support Assistant opportunity within a warm, family-focused school, with a clear temp-to-perm route for the right person.

The Role
Provide 1:2 LSA support for two KS2 pupils with dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory processing needs
Use a range of dyslexia-friendly strategies and interventions to strengthen reading, spelling, handwriting, and overall literacy
Deliver tailored literacy and handwriting programmes to help close learning gaps
Support pupils with sensory regulation strategies and offer brain breaks where appropriate
Encourage confidence, creativity, and independence in every learning activity
Work closely with families to ensure consistent, personalised support
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting KS2 pupils with SEN, especially dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory needs
- SpLD / ATS / APS qualification or credible experience supporting pupils with Dyselxia
Strong understanding of dyslexia-specific techniques-such as multisensory approaches, overlearning, scaffolded writing, and structured reading interventions
Patient, resilient, and skilled at building positive, trusting relationships
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
