A well-established specialist school in Croydon is looking for a confident, dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a resilient and patient individual to join a structured, high-support environment where relationship-building is the key to student success.

• Start Date: Immediate Start available.
• Contract: 12-week temporary placement leading to a Permanent Contract.
• Pay: £95-£100 per day.
• Hours: 8:30am- 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).
• Location: Croydon (Specialist Primary & Secondary ages).

The Role:

Working across both Primary and Secondary phases, you will be a consistent presence for students who need it most. This role is about more than just classroom assistance; it's about providing the "care-first" support that helps students with SEND and complex needs engage with the lessons and their environment.

• Emotional Support: Assist pupils with emotional regulation and help them navigate positive behaviour choices in a calm manner.
• Targeted Intervention: Deliver 1:1 support and small group sessions that help bridge the gap between students and their learning goals.
• Liaison with school: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to adapt materials and maintain a safe, nurturing classroom.
• Build Rapport: Creating relationships that enable the students to feel confident and able to learn in a caring classroom

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience or strong interest in supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
• Calm, patient, and confident when managing challenging behaviour
• Background in education, youth work, care, or other supportive settings
• A strong team player with effective communication skills
• Committed to securing a permanent role following the temporary period
