SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £19,860 - £21,168

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with SEND to access learning safely
• Deliver 1:1 and small group support under teacher guidance
• Help implement EHCPs, behaviour plans and care plans
• Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusion
• Support personal care, health and therapy needs where required
• Create a safe and supportive learning environment
• Work with teachers, families and professionals to support pupils
• Support pupils during lessons, breaks and school activities
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies
• Take part in training, meetings and professional development
  
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN needs
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding and related procedures
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science
• Team teach trained - desirable
• Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) - desirable
• Trained in moving and handling - desirable
