Teaching Assistant
Job Title: Teaching Assistant - 1:1
Location: West Sussex
Contract: Temp ongoing Monday to Friday term time only
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90 - £105 per day DOE
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning, social-emotional, and medical needs. This role requires a calm, therapeutic approach to build trust, manage anxiety, and help the pupil re-engage positively with school life.
The position is a long-term temporary role.

Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 support in class and around the school
Support both educational progress and medical care needs as a learning support assistant in class
Use a therapeutic, SEMH-informed approach to promote well-being and engagement
Encourage participation in learning and support smooth transitions
Build a trusting relationship to reduce barriers to school attendance
Candidate Requirements
Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, and/or medical need
Patient, resilient, and professional approach
Willingness to undertake specialist training
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Background in education, care, or health settings desirable but not essential
