Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - Primary School | Crawley
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary schools across Crawley. This role involves working closely with children who have Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Speech and Language needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in education, care, or support work who are looking to secure a long-term role in a school setting.
- Location: Specialist setting in Crawley
- Pay: £90 - £100 per day (dependent on experience)
- Hours: 08:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
- Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12 weeks leading to permanent contract)
- Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
- Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
- Assist with learning, behaviour management, and emotional regulation
- Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support plans
- Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, or support work)
- Interest or experience in SEND, SEN, or SEMH
- Understanding of Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs (desirable)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Commitment to securing a long-term or permanent position
