Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only - Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: £92 - £95 (depending on experience)
NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN care support teaching assistant (temp to perm) for a school in Leeds. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting students with a range of complex Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 4-18years old.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in education, care, or support work who are looking for a rewarding role with the potential for a permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality personal care and support to pupils with complex SEN needs, including those with severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs, physical disabilities, Down's Syndrome, sensory impairments, and autism
- Deliver tailored 1:1 support and assist small groups, focusing on pupils' individual care, communication, and developmental needs
- Support pupils with daily routines, including personal care, mobility, feeding, and medical requirements, ensuring dignity and well being at all times
- Promote emotional well-being by building trusting relationships and supporting pupils with regulation, behaviour, and social interaction
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff to ensure each pupil's care and support plan is effectively implemented
- Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that prioritises pupils' physical comfort, safety, and engagement
What we're looking for:
- Experience or a strong willingness to provide high-quality personal care to pupils with complex SEN needs, including severe learning difficulties, medical needs, physical disabilities, and autism
- Ability to deliver tailored 1:1 support and assist small groups, with a focus on individual care, communication, and development
- Confidence in supporting daily routines such as personal care, mobility, feeding, and medical needs, while maintaining dignity and respect
- A caring and patient approach to promoting emotional well-being, supporting behaviour, and building positive, trusting relationships
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and SEN staff
- Commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports pupils' well-being, comfort, and engagement
