Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Full-Time / Permanent
Location: Leeds (LS9)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £19,500 - £20,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

If so, NextGen Teachers is proud to be recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the wonderful team at a Specialist School based in Leeds (LS9) starting as soon as possible.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and complex learning difficulties.
You will:
Work closely with class teachers to deliver tailored support and engaging lessons
Provide one-to-one and small group assistance to help pupils achieve their learning goals
Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive classroom environment
Contribute to the school's ethos of care, respect and achievement for all learners
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting experience welcome)
Empathetic, patient and able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
A great communicator and proactive team player
Ideally qualified to Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
Able to commit to a full-time, permanent position and be a consistent part of the school community
In possession of (or willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS certificate
