SEN Supply Teaching Assistant
Location: North Bradford
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), term-time only, day-to-day supply cover
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
NextGen Teachers are pleased to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide day-to-day cover across a variety of schools in Leeds.
This position is well-suited to a caring, flexible, and committed SEN professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional and complex needs. You will gain valuable experience working in both specialist SEN provisions and mainstream primary schools across the Leeds area.
You'll be joining supportive and inclusive school communities that place the wellbeing of pupils and staff at the centre of everything they do, while playing a key role in helping learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to thrive.
About the Role
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
- Support children with diverse needs, including ASC, ADHD, MLD, global developmental delay, and SEMH.
- Assist class teachers in providing inclusive, differentiated learning and contribute to sensory interventions when required.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
- Provide sensitive and confident support with personal care needs where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children with complex SEN needs.
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- Strong communication, adaptability and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
- Minimum GCSE grade 4/C in English, Maths, and Science.
- A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable.
