About the School

NextGen Teachers are proud to be working in partnership with a Specialist Provision based in Huddersfield to recruit an inspiring SEMH Class Teacher.

This school provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 years, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally. This role will be to teach a KS3 class of pupils who are currently working at a KS2 curriculum level. The children in this class have an EHCP for SEMH as well as Autism / ADHD and MLD.

As an SEMH Class Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum tailored to meet the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.

• Support the class team in facilitating engaging learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviour.

• Monitor and report on pupil progress, liaising with colleagues to ensure every child's needs are fully supported.

• Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including school trips and extra-curricular sessions.

• Build meaningful relationships with pupils that encourage participation, confidence, and achievement.

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Ideally has experience working with pupils with SEMH needs within an educational setting.

• Demonstrates effective behaviour management strategies.

• Is committed to continuous professional development.

• Is willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting.
