Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), term-time only
Start date: ASAP
Salary: Minimum £100 per day

NextGen Teachers are proud to be working with a thriving primary school in Leeds to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Mentor to work across KS2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, promoting wellbeing, and helping to create a safe and nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed.

You will be joining a setting that prioritises the wellbeing of both pupils and staff, while making a real difference to the lives of learners.

About the Role

• Providing support across KS2 classrooms, not based in a single class
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour effectively
• Building strong, trusting relationships to promote positive attitudes to learning
• Supporting the school's safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance policies
• Working collaboratively with staff to ensure consistency and effective support for pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous KS2 school-based experience (essential)
• Experience supporting children with SEN and challenging behaviour
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• Minimum GCSE grade 4/C in English, Maths, and Science
• A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable
