Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Specialist SEN School
Location: Near Horsham, West Sussex
Contract: Temp to perm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £110 - £130 per day

The Role:
We're seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across and independent SEN school. You'll play a key role in mentoring classroom support staff, leading small-group sessions, and promoting independence, confidence and success among pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work under the direction of Teachers and Senior Leaders to support teaching delivery.

• Line manage and mentor a team of Learning Support Assistants.

• Adapt learning materials to meet pupils' individual needs.

• Foster positive relationships with parents and carers to enhance pupil progress.

• Monitor and record pupil achievement and development.

• Support pupils' emotional and social wellbeing, encouraging self-esteem and resilience.

• Uphold safeguarding, Health & Safety, and SEN Code of Practice standards.

Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a school setting.

• Strong understanding of autism and associated learning needs.

• Confident communicator and role model for staff and pupils.

• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding best practice.

• Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply).
