Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only, Temp-to-Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £92.60 per day (minimum)

NextGen Teachers are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leeds that is looking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a September 2026 start.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, SEN support, social work, youth work, or wider education-based professions. The role offers valuable classroom experience within a supportive primary school environment and could lead to teacher training or a permanent school-based position.
The successful candidate may work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes, supporting pupils with their learning, development and engagement. There may also be opportunities to support children within the school's onsite SEN provision, working alongside experienced staff to help pupils with additional learning needs access the curriculum and thrive in school.
The Role
Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with their learning and development
Providing small-group and 1:1 intervention support
Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
Helping pupils to build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
Supporting children with additional needs within the school's onsite SEN provision when required
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
Contributing to a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

Individuals considering a future career in teaching or education
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
