Supply ECT Teacher (Primary) - Wakefield

• Location: Wakefield & Surrounding Areas
• Start Date: Ongoing | Flexible Working | Term-Time Only
• Pay: £100 - £160 per day (dependent on role and experience)

NextGen Teachers are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join our growing team of supply staff, supporting a range of primary schools across Wakefield. This is a brilliant opportunity to build your experience, develop your classroom confidence, and make a difference-while benefiting from flexibility and variety in your working week.

We are particularly keen to hear from ECTs who are open to HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) cover roles, where appropriate, to broaden experience and support schools with short-term staffing needs.

The Role:

• Deliver high-quality lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (year groups based on your experience and preferences)
• Provide HLTA cover when needed - including leading small group sessions, interventions, or occasional class cover
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and teaching styles
• Support pupils' learning, behaviour, and wellbeing across a range of contexts
• Gain experience, build networks, and access future long-term opportunities

Ideal Candidate:

• Recently qualified ECT with QTS (or due to qualify this academic year)
• Confident, flexible, and eager to build teaching experience
• Willing to work in both teaching and HLTA capacities as needed
• Committed to high standards and inclusive, child-centred education
• Reliable and responsive - ready to step in and support where needed

Requirements:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• References covering your last 2 years of work or training
