NextGen Teachers are currently working in partnership with an exceptional Specialist and Complex Needs School in the LS8 area of Leeds to find a standout SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their team.

About the School

  • A well-respected, specialist provision for pupils aged 2 - 18 with a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, PMLD, SLD, SEMH, and medical needs.

  • A highly skilled, multidisciplinary team including therapists, behaviour specialists, and pastoral staff.

  • Tailored, creative curriculum's with a deep focus on communication, emotional regulation, and independence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting children with complex educational and behavioural needs in 1:1 and small group settings.

  • Implementing bespoke strategies designed by therapists and SEN specialists.

  • Using creative methods such as sensory play, visual timetables, PECs, Makaton, and assistive tech.

  • Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour in line with each student's plan.

  • Being a consistent, calming presence for learners who rely on stability and trust.

Requirements

  • You might have worked in an SEN setting, care role, or with children/adults with disabilities.
  • You're calm under pressure, naturally nurturing, and deeply patient.
  • You believe in every child's potential and have the resilience to help unlock it.
  • Teamwork is second nature to you - you value training, support, and shared wins.
  • You're ready to grow - and want a role where your passion and purpose align.
  • The right to work in the UK and the ability to work full time
  • An enhanced Child and adult DBS on the update service
  • Two professional references
