Childcare Specialist - Primary School | Leeds

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Childcare Specialist to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Leeds. This is on a full time, temp to perm basis, starting in September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are passionate about working with children and are looking to gain valuable classroom experience while making a real difference to pupils' learning and development.

We are looking for individuals who hold a degree in a relevant subject, such as:

• Childhood Studies
• Primary Education
• Working with Children, Young People and Families
• Early Childhood Studies
• Education Studies
• Or another child-focused qualification

The Role

As a Childcare Specialist, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range. You will play an important role in helping children reach their full potential by providing both academic and pastoral support within the classroom and during small group or one-to-one interventions.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a degree in Childhood Studies, Primary Education, Working with Children, Young People and Families, or a similar relevant subject
• Has experience working with children through placements, volunteering, childcare settings, schools, coaching, youth work, or similar environments
• Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting children's learning and wellbeing
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is proactive, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Has the right to work in the UK
• Is available for full time work opportunities
