Teaching Assistant-Supply
Supply SEN Teaching Assistant - Wakefield
Location: Wakefield (SEN and mainstream schools)
Hours: Monday-Friday, school hours | Term-Time Only
Salary: £90-£95 a day
Start Date: Immediate
NextGen Teachers is looking for compassionate, adaptable Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across schools and specialist provisions in Wakefield. You'll work with children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, PMLD, complex needs, and social/emotional needs, helping them feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs
Assist with communication, sensory activities, behaviour support, and daily routines
Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning
Provide personal care when needed (training available)
Promote a calm, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff across schools
Candidate Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASD, ADHD, PMLD, or complex needs
Patient, reliable, proactive, and adaptable
Comfortable providing personal care when necessary
DBS on the Update Service, or willing to obtain promptly
Immediate availability and flexible to work across Wakefield schools
