Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £140 - £220 per day (dependent on experience)
NextGen Teachers are working with specialist SEN schools across Leeds to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher to support pupils with complex needs.
These settings support learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), epilepsy, multi-sensory impairments, muscular dystrophy, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other complex needs. Teaching is highly personalised and may include structured learning, sensory-based activities and life skills, alongside a high level of care, emotional support and behaviour regulation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver personalised learning in line with EHCP targets
Create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Track and record progress using observations, photos and assessment systems
Work closely with staff, families and external professionals
Provide personal care and mobility support where required
Support emotional regulation, communication and sensory development
Contribute to enrichment activities that support wellbeing
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with pupils with complex SEN
Experience providing personal care
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
Calm, caring and patient approach
Team Teach training (or willingness to complete)
Strong communication skills
Sound knowledge of safeguarding
